National Recognition

The WILL program has received considerable national recognition for its inspired and unique approach to women’s education.
  • 2007: The University of Richmond and Duke University collaborated to host a conference for colleges and universities that have replicated the WILL Program.
  • 2006: A WILL student, a WILL alumna, the director and assistant director presented research on the WILL Program at the National Women’s Studies Association Conference in Oakland, California.
  • 2004–present: WILL program directors consult with colleges and universities interested in replicating the WILL model. 
  • 2003, 2001, 1999: Forty-three colleges and universities attended a WILL Replication Workshop, held at the University of Richmond, in order to learn how to create similar programs on their campuses.
  • 2001: National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Region III Exemplary Program Award. The WILL program was selected by NASPA as one of only 10 programs nationally and internationally described as “exemplary.”
  • 1997: ACE/N.I.P. National Network for Women Leaders in Higher Education Annual Leadership Award.
  • 1995: NASPA Region III The Innovative Program Award Honorable Mention.
